Emocards
The emocards method consists of 16 cartoon faces, which depicts eight distinct emotional responses. The method is based on the assumption that emotions can be classified or categorised into set of emotions which each can be associated with a specific recognisable facial expression. In practice, the test user selects one of the eight faces each representing a distinct emotion. This method is usually used to summarise emotions towards a product before or after use. (Isomursu et al. 2007). The positive experiences from using the emocards are that it is a method that is easy to use, it requires simple equipment, the results are in numerical form and it is easy to analyse. The negative experience from using the method are that it does not address the dynamic side of the experience, the pictures are sometimes difficult to interpret for the subject, it requires additional data collection if explanations are sought, it is difficult to perform during use, more suitable before or after use, it requires that the user summarise his/her emotions into one selection.
